Agentic Operating System

CORTEX

A desktop environment where AI agents plan, remember, and act.

What it is

One operating surface.

Cortex fuses three things that usually live in separate apps — an orchestrator brain, persistent memory, and a voice — into a single desktop environment. You don't open a chatbot. You inhabit an OS where agents do the work.

Orchestrate

A central brain routes tasks to specialist agents and keeps them on mission.

Remember

File-based memory that persists across sessions — context that compounds.

Speak

A living voice interface. Talk to your OS; it talks back and takes action.

The modules

Everything attaches to the spine.

Six parts of one system. Hermes — the messenger — runs the spine that carries every request, reply, and result between them.

Presence

The Orb

An ambient presence across the whole OS. It listens, it speaks, and it shows you what the agents are doing — while work runs, activity satellites orbit it. One glance at the orb and you know the state of your system.

Voice

Voice loop

Talk to your OS. A wake word summons it; it answers — and then it acts. Ask for something and the loop closes: heard, understood, done, reported back in its own voice.

Companions

The Pantheon

The agents are companions — specialists, each bearing a constellation sigil, ranked in three tiers. You don't manage prompts; you dispatch companions suited to the work.

Olympian

tier i — the principals

Deep-reasoning agents trusted with whole missions. They plan, delegate, and answer for the outcome.

Daimon

tier ii — the intermediaries

Focused specialists that own a domain — research, code, markets — and report upward.

Automaton

tier iii — the hands

Small, fast workers that execute single tasks — fetch, file, format — and return.

Every message between you and the companions passes through Hermes — the messenger runs the spine.

Memory

Neural Map

Memory you can walk through. A full-tab, living knowledge graph grown from file-based memory that persists across sessions — what the agents learn compounds instead of resetting.

Operations

Mission Control

One board for everything in flight — tasks, todos, and the agents running them. What's queued, what's active, what's done: a single view, not five tabs.

Routing

OmniRoute

Any request, the right mind. Cortex routes each task to the model or agent best suited to it — Claude, GLM, Grok, or a local model — without you switching apps or thinking about it.

STATUS — IN ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT

cortex is a working build, not a shipped product
